The passion for gadgets is passed down through the family line. My grandpa was a mechanic in the chemical factory in our hometown Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria. His skills were well known and were recognized through publication on the cover of the city's newspaper - the back then factory "Facebook". To this day, we proudly keep that newspaper...

My mother inherits from him an interest in machines, and technical stuff in general. I've told her more than once that she supposed to be an engineer, because she's also very good with math.

This passion for machines reaches me too.

When I was a child (and even now) I never played with toy cars, but with constructor. Making models of ships, towers and painting train compositions, large passenger vessels, industrial plants with their high chimneys, was my passion. I was dreaming to work in such a factory and this has become my life goal. Therefore I signed up to study in the Technical school of industrial chemistry of Dimitrovgrad, specialty Industrial Automation. Тhen I continued my education in the same specialty at University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Sofia.

In 2011 I graduated bachelor and fulfill my dream to work in a large chemical plant. I worked in Neochim PLC Dimitrovgrad for 8 years and I was proud to be part of the factory staff. During this time I completed my master degree and continued as a PhD student in Industrial Automation.

Ever since I was a boy, following my grandfather's example, I am tirelessly creating, making wooden knick-knacks, metal parts, mechanisms and even I made myself some tools, because I didn’t have enough money to buy such. But I realized that good instruments are very important for the implementation of my projects and I started saving money and investing in machines and tools. For years I set aside funds to build and equip a workshop. Things accelerated when I started getting paid and a couple of years ago the dream workshop was born. I saw the potential in this field and decided to turn my hobby into a business. In parallel with my work in the factory, I was also a freelancer, studying various technologies and developing my strategy and business plan. Finally in 2020 I established a startup company - MATOR.
